This project consists of the external refurbishment of 6 blocks of flats located in Croesyceiliog, Cwmbran. These are 2-14 Cardigan Crescent, 1-13 & 15-27 Coed Garw, 101-113 & 115-127 Edlogan Way and 15-27 Hazel Walk. The buildings are designated as general housing, consist of 7 flats in each block and were built in the 1960’s as social housing. The buildings are of a traditional brick and block type construction with low pitched roofs. The residents living in the blocks consist of Bron Afon tenants and leaseholder properties. The works includes; re-roofing and strengthening works to the main buildings and external storage sheds, external envelope refurbishment works, balcony repairs and works to the drying areas. Contractors bidding for this work must be able to commence work on site at the end of June 2021 and be completed and invoiced by the end of November 2021. A period of 20 weeks has been allocated to deliver this project. The project is subject to consultation with leaseholders under section 20 of the Landlord and Tenant Act and works will have to be undertaken under the terms of a bat license from NRW.

Cyfanswm maint neu gwmpas y tendr

Contractors bidding for this work must be able to commence work on site at the end of June 2021 and be completed and invoiced by the end of November 2021. A period of 20 weeks has been allocated to deliver this project.

The tender will be awarded to the Most Economically Advantageous Tender.

The contract will be undertaken using the JCT Minor Work Building Contract 2016 including Bron Afon’s standard prelims and amendments.

Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:

Bron Afon is committed to contributing to the social, economic and environmental well-being of the wider community. Consequently Community Benefits clauses will be a mandatory contract clause. Therefore, as a minimum requirement, Tenderers will have to agree that community benefits will become part of the contract and as such, a minimum 1.5% cash donation will be required.

The buyer considers that this contract is suitable for consortia bidding.
