The refurbishment of Flats 1 and 2, communal areas and front canopy to Block A in Glamorgan Court, Treforest Campus. The project is a pilot scheme to refurbish Flats 1 & 2, the internal communal stairwells and external entrance canopy and entrance to Block A in Glamorgan Court. This project will set out several standards that USW wishes to achieve as it looks to refurbish its Glamorgan Court buildings over the coming years. The work will consist of new bedrooms, new bathrooms (removing the old bathroom pods), new kitchens, new mechanical and electrical service, an external canopy and entrance doors and new finishes all in accordance with the design.

Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:

Community Benefits is key to ensuring sustainable development and ensuring that the wider social and economic

issues are taken into account when tendering works, service or supplies contracts. USW utilises the concepts

wherever possible to deliver those benefits and establishing ways of adding more value via the tendering process.

The University is committed to delivering Community Benefits through its sourcing activity.

Community Benefits are a non-Core requirement and will not be evaluated as part of the Tender.

Upon award the successful Bidder(s) will be expected to work with the University to maximise the Community

Benefits delivered through this contract. This will include, but is not limited to:

Securing positive outcomes that would benefit the University and the community they operate within for

example:

• Sponsoring student projects or competitions

• Student placements / internships

• Scholarships

• Guest Speaker slots / lectures

• Community project work
