Crynodeb

This is a Contract Award for the provision of Legal Services in respect of the Bridgend Town Heat Network Project to Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC). There are three Work Packages in the scope of work, two of which are provisional depending on BCBC making a decision to proceed. The WP's are overviewed as follows: 1. Work Package 1 – Pre-commercialisation Advice. 2. Work Package 2 – Procurement of Design Build Operate and Maintain Contractor. 3. Work Package 3 – Creation of a Special Purpose Vehicle. The Bridgend Town Heat Network Project has previously undergone a detailed feasibility study in 2016 which was used to inform an outline business case (OBC) for the project which was completed in 2017. The OBC was approved by BCBC Cabinet in April 2018. The project is currently going through a pre-commercialisation stage with the intention being to produce a RIBA Stage 3 Design prior to the commencement of a procurement process to appoint a contractor to deliver the project. The project is built around the premise of supplying heat and power to a number of public buildings and a new development site. The scheme will utilise a gas CHP engine to provide the energy resource for the scheme.
