Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:
The Group is committed to delivering ‘Community Benefits’ from its procurement activities, this is implemented by ensuring the wider social and economic issues are taken into account when spending public money.
Examples of community benefits include:
• Training and recruitment opportunities for the long term economically inactive (long term economically inactive means those not been in paid employment in the last 3 months immediately prior to the date of this invitation);
• Volunteering days;
• Landscaping/Building Services support to regenerate for communal areas;
• Support for local youth groups and other community groups;
• Sponsoring of mini sporting tournament or event;
• Community newsletters advising on impact of works;
• Contributions to Education such as work placements for secondary-school children and college students, landscaping/building services support to regenerate for school playgrounds.
The buyer considers that this contract is suitable for consortia bidding.
