DVCP – Cycle Centre Advert – Bike Centre at the Dare Valley Country Park
Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is looking for a company or individual who are experienced in operating either cycling or similar outdoor activity provision to operate our new fully equipped seasonal family focused Mountain Bike Centre based at the Dare Valley County Park, Aberdare, RCT, CF44 7RG.
The centre will operate from Easter to the October half term holidays with the option to develop the business further.
The Council is offering a 3 year lease, with an option for a further 2 years, subject to conditions and at the discretion of the Council.
Rental offers expected in excess of £6,000 per annum plus VAT inclusive of rates and any utilities.
Tenant to be responsible for Public Liability Insurance (min 7.5M)
Tenant to be responsible for one off surveyor and solicitor fees of £1,200
The successful operator/lease holder will operate from our new purpose build cycle centre, which includes workshop and small catering space. In addition, a vehicle and trailer will be available during the hire season. The ingoing tenant to be responsible for the repair, maintenance and insurance of the purpose built cycle centre and ancillary premises.
The Council will retain the repair and maintenance responsibility of the cycle track.
The operator will have access to a fleet of 75 quality hire bikes and accessories. It is expected that the repair and maintenance of the bikes will be the responsibility of the tenant.

The Council is interested to explore any proposals that help establish a vibrant activity offer and promotes the use, enjoyment and appreciation of the wonderful outdoor surroundings available at the site.
Lease applicants will be required to provide a business plan that outlines any relative experience and includes proposals for developing the business opportunity.
