The company requires the supply of asbestos management services to the Port of Felixstowe site to meet the Control of Asbestos Regulation 2012. The Port operates 24 hours a day, 364 days a year. Asbestos removal services may also be required.

There are approximately 24 buildings which will need to have annual management surveys. Management and demolition surveys may also be required.

To meet the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, the Company requires the supply of asbestos management services to the Port of Felixstowe site.

There are approximately 24 buildings which will need to have annual management surveys. Management and demolition surveys may also be required. The associated reports will need to be in an electronic format as well as hard copies.

The Asbestos Register will require regular updating as inspections or removal takes place.

Labels must be checked and applied, where either missing or when any new asbestos material is found.

Asbestos removal may be required throughout the contract term, this will normally be prior to any refurbishment or demolition works.

There will be a requirement to review by carrying out management surveys, buildings currently on the register as no asbestos detected (NAD).

The Contractor may also be required to supply scaffolding and other working at height platforms in accordance with asbestos maintenance and removal.

The Contractor must also provide annual on-site asbestos awareness training courses for up to 12 persons.

All works must be carried out in accordance with all relevant legislation. This will be more clearly defined in the tender document.

The contract term will be 5 years from the anticipated commencement date of the 1.2.2016.

The Contracting Authority will incorporate a minimum of 10 calendar days standstill period at the point information on the Award of the Contract is communicated to the tenderers. If an appeal regarding the Award of a Contract has not been successfully resolved the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2006 (SI 2006 No 6) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland).
