A new build sports centre at the Nantgarw campus comprising of a 4 court sports facility using cost
effective tensile sports facilities constructed from a steel superstructure and covered with a heavy duty
architectural membrane to provide a bright flexible use environment. potentially depending on the final
location of the sports centre a requirement for harmonisation works to existing car park facilities to the
existing campus. Also this project will involve a two storey extension of an existing workshop building (C
Block Ystrad Campus) providing brickwork and plumbing facilities, workshop, teaching and learning areas,
external storage areas along with upgrading and reconfiguration of internal workshops, teaching and learning areas within C and F Blocks (electrical, gas assessment centre) Ystrad Mynach Campus.
Pricing is segregated into 3 Lots: -
• Lot 1 - Construction Services for the new Sports Centre & Existing Workshop Extension
• Lot 2 - Construction Services for the new Sports Centre
• Lot 3 - Construction Existing Workshop Extension
The contract will either be awarded for Lot 1 only or awarded for Lot 2 and 3 separately, this will depend on which lots will be the most advantageous taking, into account the price and quality of the return.
Contractors are asked to price for the Lots, using both: -
1. NEC Option A – Priced Contract with Activity Schedule
2. NEC Option C – Target Contract with Activity Schedule
