Tunnel Ventilation and Lineside M and E.
Tunnel ventilation system:
The purpose of the tunnel ventilation system is to provide a tenable environment within the tunnels. This will include the delivery of the tunnel ventilation system using predominantly large axial fans in shafts (within long tunnels) and jet fans in the shorter tunnels.
M and E subsystems:
The purpose of the M&E subsystems is to provide other rail systems with power supplies and monitoring. The M&E systems include active and passive fire safety provisions within tunnels, tunnel cross passage door installation in bored and cut and cover tunnels, tunnel lighting and low voltage (LV) distribution, Longitudinal handrails in tunnels, tunnel SCADA systems and remote monitoring of equipment in shafts and key equipment in the wayside, points heating and junction lighting.

This PIN is not a call for competition and is not published to reduce time limits for the receipt of tenders. The procurement process for Tunnel and Lineside M&E will be re-launched in due course by the publication of further PIN(s) and/or contract notice(s). HS2 Ltd reserves the right not to commence any procurement or award any contract(s) in respect of Tunnel and Lineside M&E and to amend the information in this PIN (including any arrangements for the industry day). The decision to accept the registration of any supplier to the industry day shall be HS2 Ltd's and final. Non-participation in the industry day shall not prevent any supplier from participating in the procurement. Given the early stage of the procurement and the anticipated impact of market engagement, information in this PIN may change. Insofar as permitted by law, HS2 Ltd shall not be liable for any losses incurred by any party as a result of reliance on such information.
