Crynodeb:

The Council requires a single gateway and coherent service pathway, which will meet all relevant statutory advocacy obligations alongside a range of non-statutory interventions, information and resources to support and empower individuals. For the purposes of this document this will be referred to as the “Advocacy Hub"

The primary role of the Advocacy Hub will be to:

— provide statutory and non-statutory advocacy services for people over the age of 18 unless otherwise indicated,

— provide a single point of contact for all advocacy queries/referrals,

— provide a clear pathway and fewer transition points between services – e.g. if someone has an Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) but then comes off a Mental Health Act Section, they could still keep the same advocate rather than having to be transferred to another service and another advocate.
