This tender is for 4 English-language and 4 Welsh-language titles to be published in early 2015 (exact date to be confirmed but it is likely to be between February and early March 2015). The total grant available to the successful publisher for the production of these 8 books is £20,000.

The series has specific guidelines as regards content and language levels; therefore the Council will provide the services of a creative editor and a language editor who will be responsible for ensuring that the language levels used are suitable for the target audience. The content would need to be suitable for an age range of 14 years and upwards.

Payments to authors and editors will be made directly by the Books Council. The Books Council will also provide cover design (unless otherwise arranged) and on this occasion both this service and the copy editing service provided by the Editorial Department will be free of charge to the successful publisher.

(Subject to confirmation of funding for the next financial year of 2015/2016, this tender will include the publication of a further 4 English-language and 4 Welsh-language titles to be published in 2016 with an option to extend the contract to a third year).
