This project will focus on the Dyfi Estuary. It will be a partnership between RSPB Cymru and Tir Canol, and will work with NRW, Ceredigion County Council, Network Rail, farmers and landowners, as well as community members as key participants, to develop and co-design a handbook for coastal adaptation to enable a proactive response for sustainable, resilient and connected coastal and wetland landscapes for the benefit of nature and people, in the face of climate change. It will aim to co-design an accessible handbook for coastal adaptation terminology, coastal adaptation policies in Wales, coastal adaptation scenarios and case studies, as well as scoping out the current landscape, habitats and species in order to co-design opportunities for blue carbon investment and relevant financial models.
The following objectives represent an initial assessment and are subject to change and refinement as the project progresses. We anticipate these objectives to evolve through the co-design and co-production process. Flexibility and adaptability will be integral to the project's success, ensuring that the final objectives align closely with the needs and aspirations of all stakeholders involved.
A detailed and costed approach to the design and production of a digital handbook for coastal adaptation, that includes an outline delivery programme, milestones, lead times, risks and dependencies.
