Overview Founded on the 1st of July 2018, Hafren Dyfrdwy is an operating subsidiary of the FTSE 100 company Severn Trent Plc and one of 11 regulated water and sewerage companies in England and Wales. Hafren Dyfrdwy’s purpose is to serve our communities and build a lasting water legacy. To us this can only be achieved through delivering an outstanding customer experience, providing a best value service and being at the forefront of environmental leadership. Llyn Clywedog is one of Hafren Dyfrdwy’s visitor sites and largest reservoirs. It was built in the 1960s to regulate the flow of water to the River Severn during the winter months, and to ensure a minimum flow during the summer. A successful bid for Welsh Government funding through The Woodland Investment Grant (TWIG) has afforded the opportunity to improve visitor areas around the reservoir. Hafren Dyfrdwy will be carrying out works in order to develop woodlands and improve Llyn Clywedog as an attractive visitor destination. One of the project areas previously had a boardwalk running through the wet woodland; this was removed over 10 years ago due to it being rotten and dangerous. There is a bird hide and a car park which are still visitable, the absence of a clear pedestrian accessway from one to another is causing the site to be unsafe. This project will allow Hafren Dyfrdwy to install a wheelchair accessible boardwalk, connecting the two areas and improving visitor access. This contract is to bring the section of path back into use. The full section of path is 286 metres, some of this may need to be boardwalk due to the topography of the ground. Please be clear in your proposal for how to bring this back into use. The full path should be wheelchair accessible. The following outputs will be required within the time constraints (Installation of the boardwalk will be expected between July 2027 and September 2027) Clearance work from the car park to the bird hide, around 286 metres, however with considerations for existing trees and flora, ensured through ecological surveys. Full delivery and installation of a high quality and wheelchair accessible boardwalk, providing a clear and safe pedestrian route from Afon Biga car park to bird hide. Effective visitor management during the project, with minimal disruption caused.

Founded on the 1st of July 2018, Hafren Dyfrdwy is an operating subsidiary of the FTSE 100 company Severn Trent Plc and one of 11 regulated water and sewerage companies in England and Wales.

Clearance work from the car park to the bird hide, around 286 metres, however with considerations for existing trees and flora, ensured through ecological surveys.

Full delivery and installation of a high quality and wheelchair accessible boardwalk, providing a clear and safe pedestrian route from Afon Biga car park to bird hide.

Effective visitor management during the project, with minimal disruption caused.
