Crynodeb
RSPB Cymru is looking to appoint a contractor to deliver works on the Lake Vyrnwy estate as part of an extensive ongoing programme of peatland restoration. This ITT covers 2 packages of work, Peatland Restoration and Heather Cutting, on the heft of Allt Forgan. Bidders can price for one or both packages.
The peatland restoration work package encompasses a 310ha area of the heft, with the aim of restoring water tables across the blanket bog through ditch, gully and peat pipe blocking and enhancements to previous peatland restoration.
Heather cutting will also be required across the heft to compliment the restoration work and reduce heather dominance in areas of deep peat.

Bidder Day 28/07/26
There will be an opportunity for interested parties to visit the project site on 28/07/2026, 8:45-16:45. Note that this will be a joint bidder day with two other RSPB Cymru Peatland Programme sites; Trum y Sarn and Cwm Pennant. Numbers will be limited to one vehicle per bidder due to access constraints, and/or transport from the public road can be provided.
The site visits will consist of a walk-out to provide an adequate representation of the site. The visit will be on foot from designated parking areas; bidders should be prepared to walk 3km over rough and uneven ground.
Please contact fay.hirst@rspb.org.uk to arrange your attendance. If you cannot make this date, please get in touch as alternative arrangements may be possible.
