Gwynedd Council seeks tenders for the Appointment of mechanical and electrical services consultant for the refurbishment project to create 37 self-contained residential units and office space in a former office building.
Cyngor Gwynedd has purchased the former Crown Buildings at Penrallt, Caernarfon and intends to convert the building to provide accommodation for those facing homelessness. The project will include residential accommodation as well as office and ancillary areas for support staff as well as communal outdoor areas.
The building faces North Penrallt to the South and Ffordd Pafiliwn to the East and is a former government office building. We believe the building is a load-bearing masonry, concrete and steel construction. Date of construction is not known; however, we believe it to be around 50 years old. The property is comprised of a lower ground floor/basement level, ground floor, first, second and third floor.
There is a car park to the rear of the building and the basement to the north of the building contains an electrical substation.
