Requirements

Item 1a: woodland ride preparation. 400m linear metres (inc. both sides of path)

Rake back or mechanically mulch/flail path verges to remove tree works debris to a minimum of 2m width either side of the path or to the dead hedge boundary, whichever is closest to remove debris leaving a surface suitable for flail mowing. To removal all tree debris above 50mm diameter between the edge of the 2m ride and the dead hedge and use to windrow adjacent to or augment the dead hedge.

Item 1b: Path resurfacing (200 linear meters)

Scrape back existing surface of the path back to the sub-base removing soils and detritus.

Replace edging boards with tanalised timber mini dimensions 87x38mm (w x h) and pegged in place at least every 2m. gaps in sub-base to be backfilled with MOT Type 3 sub-base and compacted.

Re-surface with limestone stone to dust with central camber, sloping 2 to 4% to the outside edge. Final path height at the path edges be between 50 and 100mm above ground level Path surface to be vibration rolled to bind to provide consistent even regularity of surface.

Following path construction, verges to be built up just below finished path edge sloping to ground to promote runoff away from the path.

Item 2: Construct 40 m replacement path.

To reinstate two sections of path 1.5m wide (30m and 10m)

Excavate as appropriate to install sub-base to 150mm and 25mm surface material set on a geotextile sheet such as Terram 2000 similar approved. Layered and secured ensuring all base, sides are covered, and sheets are overlapped by a minimum of 1m.

Path to be edged with tanalised timber mini dimensions 87x38mm (w x h) and pegged in place at least every 2m.

Sub-base to be MOT type 3 compacted using heavy vibrating roller.

Surface to achieve with central camber, sloping 2 to 4% to the outside edge. Final path height at the path edges be between 50 and 100mm above ground level Path surface to be vibration rolled to bind to provide consistent even regularity of surface.

Following path construction, verges to be built up just below finished path edge sloping to ground to promote runoff away from the path.

Item 3: Step replacement (three sections, currently 23, 6 and 5 risers)

Renew steps at locations identified on map. Replace step risers with oak sleepers 1.2m width and pinned in place with galvanised metal rod min diameter 12mm. Steps sides edged with tanalised timber minimum 87x38 (w x h) and back fill where necessary with MOT type 3 stone and stone to dust binding of top layer, steps to have a frontwards fall of 1:50 (+- 10). Step depth minimum 450mm, maximum strep riser height of 170mm. Path between steps should not have a rise of more than 1:20.

The top of and bottom approaches to steps must have level approaches of a minimum size of 1500mm x 1200mm (L x W)

It is expected that the sections will require additional treads to meet the hight and slope requirements approximately 28, 10 and 5 risers.

Continuous double handrail to one side of steps to include any intermediate path areas between steps less than 3000mm long. Top timber rail to be set at a height average of 900mm.

Supporting hand rail posts to be no further apart than 1.8m.

Height of handrail to taken at the mid-point of each step. Posts and rails to be exterior grade tantalised timber.

Post diameter- min 75mm, rails either min 87x38mm or 75mm half round.

Rail ends to be rounded off and no longer than 100mm overhang of last post.

Item 4a: woodland ride preparation. 472m linear metres (inc both sides of path)

Item 4b: Path resurfacing (236 linear meters)

Scrape back existing surface of the path back to the sub-base removing soils and detritus.

Replace edging boards with tanalised timber mini dimensions 87x38mm (w x h) and pegged in place at least every 2m. gaps in sub-base to be backfilled with MOT Type 3 sub-base and compacted.

Re-surface with limestone stone to dust with central camber, sloping 2 to 4% to the outside edge. Final path height at the path edges be between 50 and 100mm above ground level Path surface to be vibration rolled to bind to provide consistent even regularity of surface

Following path construction, verges to be built up just below finished path edge sloping to ground to promote runoff away from the path.

Item 5: Step replacement (three sections, 7, 4, 5 currently risers)

Renew steps at locations identified on map. Replace step risers with oak sleepers 1.2m width and pinned in place with galvanised metal rod min diameter 12mm. Steps sides edged with tanalised timber minimum 87x38 (w x h) and back fill where necessary with MOT type 3 stone and stone to dust binding of top layer, steps to have a frontwards fall of 1:50 (+- 10).
