The Council is seeking to engage suitably experienced and competent Contractors to carry out Fire Door Inspections, Remedials and Replacements for Housing and Property assets across the County of Powys.
The Council’s aim is to award an individual contract for each lot.
Lots for the Tender are as follows;
- Lot 1 – North Powys Corporate Properties Fire Door Remedials & Replacements
- Lot 2 – South Powys Corporate Properties Fire Door Remedials & Replacements
- Lot 3 – North Powys Housing Properties Fire Door Inspections, Remedials & Replacements
- Lot 4 – South Powys Housing Properties Fire Door Inspections, Remedials & Replacements
Bidders are able to submit a Tender for one or multiple lots. If bidding for multiple Lots Bidders must have the capacity to undertake all Contracts simultaneously if successful in multiple Lots and must provide evidence of this in their Tender Response.
Bidders should note that Lot(s) will be evaluated and awarded separately.
It is a minimum requirement of the tender that:
- Bidders must be certified under an independent, third party fire door assessment and certification scheme that is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (“UKAS”), covering fire door manufacture, installation and/or maintenance (as applicable),
- Bidders must be certified to Constructionline Silver with relevant work categories (or equivalent). A relevant Common Assessment Standard Recognised Assessment Body accreditation may be accepted.,
- Bidders must hold a valid registration with a Safety Schemes in Procurement (“SSIP”) accredited Health and Safety scheme (or demonstrably equivalent),
- Bidders are required to pass a financial assessment as detailed within the tender documentation,
- The following minimum insurance cover must be in place, or agreement to put in place by contract commencement date - Public Liability Insurance: minimum £5,000,000 for any one occurrence or series of occurrences arising out of one event; Employer’s Liability Insurance: minimum £5,000,000 for any one occurrence or series of occurrences arising out of one event,
- Bidders must be registered with the Central Digital Platform (“CDP”) located at https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/ prior to the Tender Date.
- Bidders must be accredited as a Real Living Wage Employer through the Living Wage Foundation at the time of tender submission or, where not currently accredited, must commit to obtaining accreditation within six (6) months of contract award,
- All site operatives have undertaken Asbestos Awareness Training from United Kingdom Asbestos Training Association (“UKATA”), or any other equivalent recognised body,
- Confirmation of compliance with the Council’s DBS policy and any requirements contained within the specifications contained within the tender documentation.
