Key roles of the HD Specialists include holistic assessment, care planning and coordination, assisting individuals to navigate the health and social care system, emotional support and provision of information and advice about HD to patients and those involved in caring for them. Service delivery also incorporates signposting to other services

The market is specific and limited. At time of previous tendering only one supplier submitted a bid. The incumbent supplier Scottish Huntington’s Association is the only supplier in Scotland providing specialist, bespoke support to patients diagnosed with Huntington's Disease
