Crynodeb

The Partneriaeth Rhostir Gogledd Cymru / North Wales Moorland Partnership is a community interest company incorporated in March 2019 for the benefit of moorland and associated communities. The Partnership has been awarded a £700,000 grant by the European Union via the Welsh Government's Sustainable Management Scheme for a collaborative project based in North Wales. The project runs until June 2023 and aims to build on current understanding through scientific study used to underpin and plan effective management techniques for the benefit of the species that depend on the moorland, to increase the habitat’s resilience to changes in climate, and to develop our understanding of this natural capital asset and the ecosystem services that it provides. The services of a project co-ordinator are required to gain the services/knowledge listed below and to liaise with the partnership directors to enable the project. Services/knowledge sought through project: - Ecologists and hydrologists - Land-based contractors - Effective recording of habitat location - Wildfire prevention and control - Knowledge of relevant human behaviour, for example: access, use, relationship with surroundings - Knowledge of relevant animal behaviour, for example: grazing, nesting, use of water - Experience of measuring/valuing/trading natural capital assets and their ecosystem services - Innovators The project co-ordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the activities of the project follow the correct procedures. They will refer to the project plan and delivery profile in planning work and submitting claims. The role is expected to require 2/3 days a week from 21 June 2021 until the final claim is submitted in 2023 (June claim).

The Project Co-ordinator will work with the three Partners in the delivery of the Project. The Project Co-ordinator will be expected to communicate with the Welsh Government and Natural Resources Wales on behalf of the Partnership where appropriate.

The role will involve appointing suitable contractors to undertake surveys, interpret data, advise, undertake works.

The role will involve working with the Accounts Clerk to process invoices and make payments, submitting claims, and ensuring compliance.

The Project Co-ordinator will be expected to follow up leads / instigate collaborations with suitable individuals / companies / organisations e.g. research centres.

Project themes include fire prevention and control, water movement, carbon management, grazing patterns, bracken control. The Project aims to use and build on current knowledge, encourage innovation, collect and interpret data, gain permissions for future management works, form a long-term management plan.

The Partnership wishes to improve the viability of upland areas both as an ecosystem and as an asset.
