Esboniad
Hywel Dda University Health Board (HDUHB) is seeking to establish a single contract with Pembrokeshire and Carmarthen Mind for a second year (2025-26), in line with a pilot initiative funded by Welsh Government and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP); to provide a specialist employment service for adults with disabilities, including mild to moderate health conditions, wellbeing and mental health issues called Individual Placement and Support in Primary Care (IPSPC).
The funding requires a third sector provider to deliver the service and the provider must clearly evidence they meed all of the criteria outlined in the description for an immediate start, of which Pembrokeshire and Carmarthen Mind have demonstrated as they currently provide the service.
Pembrokeshire and Carmarthen Mind have been delivering the service since July 2024, the service has made strides in embedding itself across the community across the HDUHB footprint. Employer networks have been established and developed, as well as relationships with key referral routes, including DWP partners throughout Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion, facilitating a continuous flow of participant referrals. The number of successful work outcomes are increasing, demonstrating the effectiveness of the support provided.
By fostering strong partnerships and delivering tailored employment support, the service is well-positioned to help more individuals achieve their employment goals, ultimately contributing to the economic and social well-being of the region.
