A-MSK group educates and researchers several topic areas and sub-disciplines of aging and Musculoskeletal physiology and biomechanics. The current focus areas are Osteoarthritis and Meniscal surgery, with particular consideration for muscle and joint adaptation caused by the disease/injury and following treatment/surgical interventions.
This equipment supports a range of projects and teaching in the areas of aging and Musculoskeletal physiology and biomechanics. This directly supports fundamental and applied research/teaching in and joint architecture, anthropometrics and neuromuscular phenotypes.
A Portable Ultrasound is required for understanding the neuromuscular capacity of aging, disease and following significant trauma requires high quality motor unit assessment.
