Crynodeb

Bryngarw Integrated Hub Project Management, Quantity Surveyor and Employer’s Agent (RIBA Stage 4 with option to extend through RIBA Stage 5, 6 and 7) Awen, with the support of Bridgend County Borough Council, is undertaking the design development of a new Integrated Hub within the grounds of Bryngarw Country Park. The Hub will support a number of Awen’s outcomes including providing a new, fit-for purpose base for its training and employability schemes which support adults with learning disabilities. RIBA Stage 3 is now complete and planning approval is in place. Awen is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced construction consultancy to fulfil the roles of Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor and Employer’s Agent for RIBA Stage 4, with the option to extend through stages 5, 6 and 7. The anticipated total project budget is £4.5m, with a building footprint of approximately 845sqm. Full details of service specification are included in Schedule 2 of the Tender document.

10/11/2025 11:03	TPOs In response to the questions raised about TPOs, we have uploaded the site plan showing the areas of the site where TPOs exist. The site of the proposed build does not appear to have any TPOs in the vicinity. The driveway leading from the public highway to the site is lined with trees which are subject to TPOs. A survey will likely be required to determine whether any overhanging branches do need to be removed in advance of the works commencing.

16/02/2026 13:21	Update on process Thank you to those who have emailed recently to enquire about the status of this tender opportunity. We are still in the evaluation stage, with no decision made. We are hoping to conclude the process soon. We acknowledge that the process is taking longer than initially anticipated and that it will have an impact on the project programme. Thank you for your patience in this matter.
23/03/2026 10:42	Notice Cancelled This notice has been cancelled. The original deadline date of 21/11/2025 is no longer applicable. Thank you to everyone who submitted proposals. Regrettably, due to a change in focus of the capital works grant scheme which we hoped would allow us to progress this project through RIBA stage 5, we are no longer in a position to proceed in the current form. It is likely (although not confirmed) that Bridgend CBC will now take the lead on this project, carry out a review, and potentially take it back to RIBA stage 2/3 to realign with the priorities of the grant scheme. We were genuinely impressed by the volume and quality of submissions received, and we are sorry that we are unable to proceed as originally planned.
