Project Specification
The aim of this course is to deliver the following learning outcomes:
Learning outcomes:
•Summarise the key features and principles and parts of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.
•Explain how the measure is applied in practice.
•Define links to other relevant Social Care legislation, e.g Social Services 7 Well Being Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act
•Break down how this applies in relation to Assessment and Outcome Planning
•Discuss the duties, and responsibilities for the care and treatment planning, review and care co-ordination of a “relevant patient”.
•Recognise and interpret organisational responsibilities and duties.
Learning outcomes:
• Describe the history, policy, legislation, and frameworks of the Welsh language.
• Summarise the More than Just Words Strategic Framework & Active Offer
• Identify the roles and responsibilities of all workers within the organisation can play in making sure the Active Offer is Implemented
• Discuss the impact working bilingually using Welsh can make for individuals and families supported by care
• Demonstrate how introducing the Welsh language and culture can be introduced in everyday work when assessing or supporting people in the Social Care Sector
• Outline resources available to support people in learning Welsh.
DELIVERABLES
A minimum of three (3) sessions and a maximum of fifteen (15) to be delivered between January 2026 and March 2028
The course is One full-day in duration .
Number of participants per course is up to 16 people.
This course can be delivered via the classroom or webinar on Microsoft Teams
