This is a Contract Award Notice for the Tender described below and conducted in accordance with Bridgend County Borough Council’s Contract Procedure Rules and managed on the ETenderWales Tendering Platform. See Extract from ETenderWales below.

"This is a Further Competition permitted under the ESPO 115-25 Framework Agreement for the Provision of Outdoor Playground, Fitness & Sports Facilities and Equipment (Design, Supply, Delivery, Installation, Maintenance, and Inspection – Lot 1 – Playground Equipment refers.

An Expressions of Interest Stage was carried out from 16th June 2026 to 23rd June 2026 to encourage interest and answer any questions potential bidders had.

Constructionline Requirement: To be awarded a contract, the successful Bidder must be Registered and Verified to a minimum of Bronze membership and SSIP Accredited.

The purpose of the Tender is to obtain fixed prices for the supply and installation of items of play equipment, safer surfacing and ancillary works in existing Thirteen (13) playgrounds under 2 Lots at:

LOT 1 (6-Sites):

• King Edward Street Blaengarw CF35 8NG.

• Mill (trews)Field Tondu Bridgend CF31 4JQ.

• Pwll Carn Blaengarw CF32 8AS.

• The Dunraven Bryncethin CF32 9YW.

• Mountain View Lewistown Ogmore Vale CF32 7LQ.

• River Street Ogmore Vale CF32 7BH

LOT 2 (7-Sites):

• Caerau Welfare Park Protheroe Street Maesteg CF34 0TN.

• Glynllan Blackmill CF35 6EE.

• Heol Y Ysgol Llangynwyd Maesteg CF34 9SS.

• Llangynwyd Village Maesteg CF34 0AA / CF34 0AE.

• Ty Derwen Glanafon Terrace Garth Maesteg CF34 0SE.

• Cae Talcen Pencoed CF35 6RP.

Each Lot is Price Capped. Any Bidder that submits a Bid Price that exceeds the Price Cap will be disqualified.

LOT 1 Price Cap: £412,289.00

LOT 2 Price Cap: £437,449.90

The Tender is to deliver the replacement and or refurbishment of fixed equipment in play areas owned or managed by the Council within the County Borough Council boundary. The replacement equipment is to be galvanised / powder coated metal in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications. Timber equipment will not be used. Where specific equipment is to be replaced that is manufactured from resin coated plywood or synthetic, highly vandal resistant material with UV protection, this will be permitted. Safer surfacing shall be Wet-Pour Impact Absorbing Surfacing unless specified differently in the Service Specification. See Tender documents.

This was a below threshold tender under the PCR - 2015 regulations and was a Further Competition permitted under the ESPO 115-25 Framework Agreement for the Provision of Outdoor Playground, Fitness & Sports Facilities and Equipment (Design, Supply, Delivery, Installation, Maintenance, and Inspection – Lot 1 – Playground Equipment refers. and the Councils Contract Procedure Rules (CPRs).

Apart from this Contract Award Notice, all aspects of the tender were conducted on ETenderWales including the publication of all tender documents, Questions and Clarifications and notifications to the unsuccessful bidders.
