Disgrifiad o'r contract
The Brecon Beacons National Park Visitor Centre lies 2 miles north of the village of Libanus off the A470, six miles west of Brecon.
The Centre has a large 1st floor outdoor balcony which is currently fronted with a wooden fence. This fence is now in poor condition
This tender is for the replacement of this fence with a similar structure to the existing one. It is also believed that where the upright posts enter the balcony structure, water is regressing in to the brickwork, causing damp in the interior of the building directly below.
The tender specifics are;
• Dismantle and dispose of existing fence to the balcony at
the front of the building
• Carefully remove existing timber post’s from the balcony
• Prepare existing holes ready to fix new upright posts
• Supply and fit new upright posts to the existing holes on
the balcony
• Proposal for a system to ensure these holes do not allow
ingress of water
• Complete the fence area by fixing the remaining
horizontal sections to the new fence posts
• Mastic around all fence posts to prevent water
penetration to the new timber posts
• Ensure area is completely cordoned off to ensure public
safety
• All new timber to be treated with a five year timber
treatment that matches the colour of other timber work on
the outer shell of the centre building.
