The Wales Resilient Ecological Network (WaREN) project is establishing a sustainable and collaborative approach to tackling invasive non-native species (‘invasive species’ or ‘INNS’) across Wales. Invasive species are one of the main drivers of biodiversity decline globally. The environmental, economic, and social impact of invasive species in Wales will continue to grow unless they are tackled with a sustainable and joined-up approach. We wish to appoint an organisation (or organisations) to produce a series of video clips to promote and complement our Local Action Group Toolkit. A summary of the Toolkit is available on the WaREN webpage with the full Toolkit due for completion by early February. The aim is to provide visuals that can sit alongside sections of the toolkit for promotion and to encourage uptake. The video clips should also function as a different medium for engaging with volunteers. Our Toolkit aims to support volunteer action and help individuals tackle invasive species in Wales. The Toolkit includes resources and including information on invasive species ID, best practice management, project planning, biosecurity, and awareness raising. The contractor will need to deliver the following, and have it agreed by the Project Manager, by early May 2023: - General introduction video and at least one video on each section of the toolkit, for example: Invasive species ID – ‘How to use INNS mapper’ Best practice management – ‘How to pull Himalayan balsam’ Biosecurity – ‘How to clean your boots and stop the spread’ - Short, ‘snappy’ (1-2 minutes) and engaging videos specifically for use on our social media platforms - Videos need to be produced in suitable formats for a number of platforms including social media, websites, and offline use. - Videos need to be bilingual (or with separate Welsh and English versions) and appropriate for a range of target audiences - Videos need to be relatable and aimed at an audience with limited background knowledge of invasive species. - Style should fit within the Wildlife Trusts Visual Brand Guidelines (which will be provided) but can be discussed during inception meeting The number of deliverables can be determined during an inception meeting. The successful contractor will be required to: - Initially agree on a brief which meets the requirements of the project - Collate examples from the environmental sector and/or invasive species projects in Wales and beyond, to guide concept and design development - Meet with project staff on a regular basis to collaborate on developing ideas - Ensure that project staff are made aware at timely and regular intervals of any actions or decisions that need to be made for the contractor to fulfil its obligations
