Brymbo Heritage Trust will soon be embarking on delivering a major community-led heritage project with a value in excess of £7m covering the former Iron and Steelworks and Fossil Forest at Brymbo near Wrexham. Details of the trust and the project - to be known as 'Stori Brymbo' - are on the trust's website www.brymboheritage.co.uk

The project involves multiple funders and covers both capital works (in the first 3 years ahead of opening to the public) and revenue activities over a five year period. The largest funders are the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) and the National Lottery Community Fund (TNLCF), between them contributing more than £5m.

The Trust has benefitted from the services of a Project Advisor since 2013 and is seeking to re-commission this work for the five year period ahead.

The commission carries an estimated time commitment of average of one day per month over 60 months, although commitment pro rata over the period to opening will be greater and over the subsequent period to NLHF project closure will be less.

The brief is to:

Provide specialist advisory support to the Trust in the delivery of the Stori Brymbo project, including project development, fundraising, risk management, project funder(s), project partner and landowner/landlord relationships, business planning, planning for operational delivery.

Support effective ongoing review of variations to budgets, timetables and project steps.

Support the preparation of appropriate progress reports to NLHF and other funders as appropriate.

Attend project board and NLHF progress meetings on an as needed basis.

Provide mentor support to the Trust Manager.

3 Amodau ar gyfer Cymryd Rhan

3.1

Safonau gofynnol a'r cymhwyster sydd ei angen

Interested consultants should have extensive experience of projects in the visitor economy and community regeneration settings, and in working with a range of public sector and philanthropic funders, partners and stakeholders.

Detailed knowledge of large scale (>£2m) National Lottery Heritage Fund programmes is an essential requirement.

Familiarity with and ease of access to North East Wales would be an advantage.

Knowledge of the public sector partners involved in community-led heritage and their respective aims for same would be an advantage.
